The High School Mascot is the Lehi Pioneers, which is so fitting for this wonderful city. The Lehi Roller Mills was the “Dance Hall” in the movie Footloose, that was the only thing in town when the movie was made, but now this is a bustling little town at the North End of Utah County. This is the Last Stop before Salt Lake County. There is still a small “downtown” area with cute quaint shops, little bakery’s and restaurants, and even an old bed and breakfast and motel on Main Street. This is a tight knit community that has seen amazing growth in the past few years.
Lehi has been listed many times over the past few years as the fastest growing city in Utah. It was the home to Micron, which is now IM Flash Technologies (joint venture between Micron and Intel), which has thousands of great jobs and is a tremendous draw for the highly educated and young employment base in North Utah County.
Lehi is also home to a HUGE Cabela’s Retail Store where hard core outdoor enthusiasts come from across the West to buy their Hunting and Outdoor Gear. This store is the focal point for growth in between Salt Lake County and Utah County Called the “Point of the Mountain”. There is tremendous residential and commerical projects approved and in the infancy that will continue to enhance Lehi as a superb place for large development and a “business” friendly city. Don’t forget to check out Utah New Homes.
The city of Lehi also knows how to have fun. One block off of Main Street there is the all encompasing “Legacy Center”. This is the work out, city playground, indoor pool, fitness center and everything else that spells “fun” within the city limits. A one-stop shop for children and adult sports programs.
Lehi has incredible schools and iswithin the Alpine School district, which is formidable as a top school district in the State.
Lehi is situated at the north end of Utah Lake, which is home to fishing, boating, and numerous walking, biking and jogging trails abound. At the west side of Lehi is the Jordan River Parkway, which sits next to the Jordan River. This parkway starts and ends at Utah Lake but can be walked, biked, jogged on for miles and miles up north of Salt Lake City. A great state funded parkway that is paved and shaded with park benches, pavillions and many exciting scenery points along the way.
Lehi is growing, both with people, businesses and infrastucture. This has always been a great town to live in, but now it is getting all the ammenities to be an amazing City, and it would be perfect for any person or family to move into. Many great residentials developments to choose from, so make sure you visit them all!
